Leuchtturm Notebooks are one of brands I have yet to try, so I’d run this one through the mill! I’d use markers, watercolor, acrylic, wax pastel, fountain pen and any other medium I can think of. I’d do zentangles and new patterns and bleedthrumanades and …oh. So many things!

    • europeanpaper December 14, 2012 at 2:58 PM #

What? You’ve never tried Leuchtturm yet? Inconceivable! ;)

  5. Cari Raboin December 10, 2012 at 8:27 AM #

Brown, Green, Light Blue are my top three color choices, but any color would be fine. I would love to try this notebook. Maybe my sisters and I would use it for our next traveling art journal! Thanks for the giveaway.

  6. Ken December 10, 2012 at 8:28 AM #

I would fill the notebooks with memories, drawings, and other observations during the many travels I plan to enjoy during my retirement. Favorite colors are taupe, tan, and purple.

  7. Trezeline L. Brooks December 10, 2012 at 8:32 AM #

I would like the taupe journal to keep my daily thoughts in. I write every evening before i go to sleep.

  8. Clayton Bulice December 10, 2012 at 8:46 AM #

When I win one of these notebooks, I will use it for my daily journal. The journal I am using now is nearly full, so it would be a good time to start filling a Leuchtturm ruled notebook. I think it would be perfect in dark brown or taupe or purple.

  9. Alberta L December 10, 2012 at 9:06 AM #

It wold be wonderful to take one of these notebooks on a Tuscan adventure and fill it with my impressions of all the beautiful things I see. I have not tried this brand before but it looks luxurious! All of the colors are great but I lean more towards the muted brown, tan and always black.

  10. Roger December 10, 2012 at 9:09 AM #

Hi and thanks for the opportunity to win a Leuchtturm Pocket Ruled Notebook. A friend recently suggested I carry a notebook to journal the various cities I visit on my travels. I think the Leuchtturm notebook would make the perfect travel journal. I could stash it in a side pocket on my backpack and always have it with me. The index and numbered pages would make it easy organize my entries and find that favorite restaurant entry the next time I visit. Black, blue and light blue would be my first choice in colors.

  11. Marguerite W. Meara December 10, 2012 at 9:12 AM #

I am enrolled in a class with Joanne Sharpe, called Color Love 101. She is teaching us all types of techniques usingg, watercolors, colored pencils, Derwent art pencils, watercolor crayons, so I would devote this notebook to this and other classes i will be taking with her. I love the brown, blue and green colored notebooks. Oh i hope I am a winner.

  12. Karen Y. December 10, 2012 at 9:32 AM #

    1. Purple
    2. Pink
    3. Light Blue

  16. Matthew Hofbauer December 10, 2012 at 10:11 AM #

I always keep a notebook/journal in my pocket, along with a Lamy Safari, regardless of what other pen I might have on me. I use them for jotting notes, or anything else that I might need on me, need to write at any given time and even my random thoughts.

Right now I’m down to the last pages in my Whitelines pocket notebook and I think this would be a welcome successor. Thanks and good luck everyone!

    Green > Blue > Tan

  17. Kyle D. December 10, 2012 at 10:21 AM #

A new pocket notebook would be handy to sketch out (and track) my goals for 2013. My preferred colors are taupe, brown, and tan (in that order). Fingers crossed!

  18. Rita McGregor December 10, 2012 at 10:42 AM #

  26. Azizah A. December 10, 2012 at 1:50 PM #

I love the purple, pink, and lime green! I’d use it as a journal. My last journal was actually the purple/lavender cover with dots and it was my favorite journal. Now I’m using one I hate… sigh.

  27. Andrew Brandt December 10, 2012 at 2:05 PM #

What wonderful timing, I’m just now finishing a series of blogs on using notebooks and included a mention of the Leuchterm1917 notebooks in the first one about alternatives to Moleskines. I think Blue would be a nice contrast to my usual notebooks, where I collect info, jot down ideas, and sometimes draft my blogs.

Which brings up the question, why 1917?

    • europeanpaper December 14, 2012 at 2:57 PM #

Great question Andrew! 1917 stands for the year Leuchtturm was founded. The German company is also family owned and we believe is run today by the fourth generation!

  28. Cindy Burton December 10, 2012 at 4:26 PM #

Thank you for this give away!
I recently started journaling. I have filled 5 so far this year. So that is what I would use it for.
My color choises are purple, pink or white.

    • europeanpaper December 14, 2012 at 2:55 PM #

5 journals filled this year!? Awesome! Great job Cindy!

  29. Dodie Busch December 10, 2012 at 5:28 PM #

European Paper Company Blog Post for Leuchtturm Pocket Notebook – Holiday Giveaway – What would I do with the notebook if I won? The handy 3.5 x 6 size makes this a perfect place to create a modern diary. My vision would be to jot daily notes of interesting things that happened that day or to paste in tickets, receipts, comics, magazine clips, etc. that represent my travels of the day. I might even draw something based on an inspiration of the day. This little journal would become my place to be creative, to download musings, and ideas to become a tangible source of remembering the self I was yesterday, last week, last year.

My top 3 color choices would be purple, light blue and pink

  30. Karen Borusiewicz December 10, 2012 at 6:50 PM #

What an awesome giveaway- perfect notebooks that I would carru with me to capture life as it happens! Love the purple- it matches my inner goddess (smile). Pink and blue too!

  31. Brian Dailey December 10, 2012 at 7:44 PM #

These notebooks are amazing. I fell in love with these when I was getting overwhelmed with to do’s, notes, lists, meeting minutes, projects and communication overload. I use these notebooks to get my life in order in both work and personal. I have several. I use one to help create my own business start ups where I gave several away to my friends who are helping me. Work is so crazy I use my notebook to track all my meetings, a quick daily to do list and to track meeting topics and notes. I love how these books flow, keep me organized and looks good while I use them. Whether I win one or not these are the best books ever…. black, brown or tan are my favorite. Keep them coming, lets organize life together….

  32. Dawn Deal December 10, 2012 at 9:28 PM #

I have always admired these notebooks but have never tried one. I would use it for my new diet and exercise tracker, since I am starting my new regime in the new year, and have heard of the benefits of journaling your progress to keep you accountable. Green is the color of health, but that light blue reminds me of the sky (and exercise outdoors!)

Who am I kidding…. I will need more than a beautiful notebook to keep me on track for my New Years resolutions :o )

  33. Coleen Franks December 10, 2012 at 11:19 PM #

I’d use it for mixed-media and drawing. My fav colors are the pink, purple and the blue. Thanks for offering.
    Merry Christmas.

  34. Cathy Staeven December 11, 2012 at 5:29 AM #

What a lovely give-away and quite the handsome journal which I would use for keeping track of ideas – I have so many of them! I like the green, taupe or blue colors the best, although all the colors are attractive.

  35. CJ Schneider December 11, 2012 at 6:22 AM #

I would love to try the Leuchtturm Pocket Ruled Notebook. I never had a notebook that had numbered pages with a table of content. I would think that it will help on marshalling all my creative thoughts & ideas. As I will never go paperless because I can always open up my note book to “see” all the interesting things that I put in there for reference. To Quote Chapman: [One of]“the ways creative thought emerges [is] from the accumulation of fragments of ideas.” As far as colors go, lime, purple & the 3rd color doesn’t really matter to me anyway……Thanks for reading my post & a Great Holiday season to all…..

  36. Michelle Remy December 11, 2012 at 6:35 AM #

I always mean to carry a notebook with me in case of sudden, away-from-studio flashes of inspiration so that’s what I’d use this notebook for should I get lucky! I love bright colors so pink, lime green, and purple are at the top of my list for color choices. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  37. Cathy Staeven December 11, 2012 at 6:59 AM #

I love this give-away – the journals are so very handsome, I would use mine to keep track of all my ideas – I have so many of them! I like best the green, taupe or blue although all the colors are lovely.

  38. David Neves December 11, 2012 at 5:22 PM #

I would use this is one of so many ways. Maybe it could be my “nurse brain” (I’m a new nurse). Or I would use it to record clever and pithy quotes from my reading (currently “Jupiter’s Travels – so good.) Or maybe just a random thought catcher. In any case, it would see good use!

I’d love a brown, or tan, or black one please!

    Thanks for the giveaway!
    David

  39. Gail DuFrane December 11, 2012 at 6:43 PM #

Hi, thanks for the generous give-away. I would love to use the journal for remembering my life … which is full and worthy of remembering. Color doesn’t matter although I love green, red and purple.

I’ve been using a Leuchtturm ruled notebook for over a year now and it is almost filled (I do need another one). I used it initially to record details of my diet for health reasons. It’s evolved into a brain dump. Hope to win a new one.

  42. Matt Lasley December 12, 2012 at 9:33 AM #

I will use it to continue recording memories from my childhood (if I don’t give it as a gift). I already have one as a gift, and one for next year’s regular journal. A wonderful notebook.
    Color Preferences: Black, Tan, Taupe.

  43. Karen December 12, 2012 at 5:30 PM #

I write several times a day – longhand, digitized @ 750words.com, with my smartphone’s Day One Journal and via sms @ Peabrain.co. I can’t possibly keep enough notebooks at the ready to capture all the ideas. To my delight, these Leuchtturm notebooks include a Table of Contents! I can’t think of a better upgrade / organizing tool for this Word Skwirl! Organizing ideas, listing where each went, is the perfect use for one of these notebooks. I feel a tradition coming on!
Taupe, Blue and Pink are my preferred cover colors.

    • europeanpaper December 14, 2012 at 2:53 PM #

Hey Karen! Interesting websites – thanks for sharing! And yes, the Leuchtturm notebooks and datebooks are incredibly useful for organizing life as we know it on paper.

  44. Dee M. December 12, 2012 at 10:04 PM #

I am currently studying a second language and I will use these notebooks to keep notes and jot down words I need to remember. I will also use the notebooks to keep track of my daily “To do” list.
My color choices are pink, purple and tan.

    • europeanpaper December 14, 2012 at 2:52 PM #

Hey Dee! What second language are you studying? If it were German, it’d be fitting as Leuchtturm is a German company! But any language is cool ;)
